The wild fires in the Amazon, Siberia, and the Canary Islands; Hurricane Dorian heading toward the Bahamas and the Eastern Seaboard--the people affected by this are in need of our prayers this morning.
Now, granted, this particular chapter in the Psalms actually deals with David's repentance after he sinned against God with Bathsheba, but I find that meditating on it when I am depressed or anxious often helps to alleviate some of the struggle.
Whatever your week holds for you and your family, remember God loves us regardless of what gets checked off our to-do lists.
Then take a breath, and say hello to the only one who has loved you without ceasing since before you were born.
We prayerfully decided to choose two verses for our family to not only memorize, but to truly take to heart. The Lord wants us to place His words on our hearts and carry them with us--remembering them and truly understanding them.
God created all of us, and our job is to share His gospel with others. This doesn't mean we're supposed to browbeat unbelievers or malign their name. Our world is currupt enough without turning our faith into a tool of corruption. When we do that, when we use Jesus as a way to bully others, we aren't doing His works, we're doing Satan's.
A week ago I stumbled upon a blog post talking about the importance of memorizing large sections of the Bible, not just a single verse, but the surrounding verses as well so that you would have a better understanding of the context.
